Month of Awareness

HELP US PLANT SEEDS OF CHANGE!

During the month of May we will be offering a special promotional seed kit in celebration of the Foundation's 30 year anniversary. For a donation of $30, we will send you a Sunflower seed kit to keep or to give to someone special. Below is a flyer and form you may reproduce and give to others. To donate, click here!

May is Month of Awareness

The first SWS Day of Awareness was held in May 2001 and enthusiastically set the stage for the activities that have been built on since its inception. In 2004, it was expanded to a Week of Awareness due primarily to the wonderful response of people wanting to do more for SWS. In 2007, it grew into the Month of Awareness (MOA), which now continues to focus on doing what it takes, wherever you are, to increase awareness.

It's Almost Here . . . Are You Ready?

WHAT CAN I DO?
There are many ways you can increase awareness for SWS and other port wine birthmark conditions:

•    Fundraisers
Plan an event or project, invite people to attend and ask for a donation to SWF.

•    Classroom program at a school Hold a program at your child’s school educating them about SWS.
The Foundation has coloring books we can provide for students. Call or email ahead with a quantity and we will ship them to you
      for your program.

•    Dress down or jeans day at work Provide co-workers with a pass to dress down or wear jeans to work for a donation to SWF.

•    Have a bake sale or lemonade stand When people make a purchase, provide them with information about SWS and the Foundation.

MONTH OF AWARENESS POSTER!
Print out the 2017 Month of Awareness poster (downloadable PDF at bottom of page). It is a double-sided awareness poster that can be hung in local businesses, grocery stores, your place of business, church or school bulletin boards, the options are numerous.  You may also reproduce this poster to place in multiple locations.

BUT THERE’S MORE!
To help spread the word even more, the Foundation has additional information that you may request:

•    Check It Out Cards
Card that explains SWS clearly when you just don’t have time for a long explanation.

•    SWF Information Brochure
A comprehensive brochure that explains SWS in detail, provides information on SWF and its function, as well as a reply card to request
      additional information.

•    Color Me Different Coloring Books
This is a great piece for children when providing educational programs at grade schools.

Please email the Foundation at swf@sturge-weber.org if you would like to receive these information pieces.
